Widespread school closure creates hardship for many families. Some students rely on school lunches for sustenance. Many parents rely on school for childcare while they work, including healthcare-related workers we desperately need. And many other workers do not have paid sick leave to self-quarantine.

Here is a list of local organizations you can support in this unprecedented crisis.

Supporting Families:

Seattle Foundation COVID-19 Response Fund

United Way of King County

Washington Kids in Transition

Your local Youth and Family Services (Google it and find one near you)

To support efforts directly related to containing and combating COVID-19, you can donate to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Legal organizations, in particular those involving housing rights:

Housing Justice Project

Eastside Legal Assistance Program
