ABOUT andrew

When I'm not in the courtroom or in depositions, most people can find me spending time with my little girls (reading, gymastics, playground, doing their hair), devouring Courtney's cooking (especially gourmet Italian and special desserts), playing electric guitar (baby blue Fender fat strat), learning how to build and fix stuff (thanks to YouTube), enjoying almost all water sports (minus wind surfing), and trying to keep up with our three rambunctious dogs: Louis, Franklin, and Mortimer.

I am a PADI certified Divemaster with speciality certifications in equipment and wreck diving, and have logged over 150 open water dives. To obtain the Wreck certification, I went diving inside a sunken warship in Canada, 120 feet deep and in 38-degree water. The sand and silt inside the halls of the ship get stirred up by currents and other divers, so diving deep into the caverns of a large ship requires a reel line tethered to the outside, such that even if you can’t see your hands in front of your face, you can feel your way out. During tropical dives, I have been circled and closely inspected by a group of hammerhead sharks, and swarmed by seals. Suffice it to say, the courtroom is not a scary place.

Courtney and I are also big fans of the Mariners and Seahawks, and we watch whenever parenthood/lawyering allows.

My practice is about building a safer community.

Laws educate people about what is expected of them, which primarily means respecting the rights and safety of others so that each person and family can dream and prosper on their own path.  I hold those who violate the law, through carelessness or misconduct, accountable in the civil justice system. By enforcing the rules, my professional goal is to protect the community from similar wrongdoing in the future.

The worst sin toward our fellow creatures is not to hate them, but to be indifferent to them: that’s the essence of inhumanity.
